Have a look at the lovely new homewares

26th September 2010

Some new wintry baby bootie patterns rolling out. I'm loving the new colourways - green and red are so much more universal colours. (Click on the booties to check it out)

The Knitting and Stitching Show is coming up. Hope to see you there.

I've added some more patterns to the slipper section and favourite patterns reoccur in the new mittens and new cushions

Here's a new cafetiere cosy

The collar makes space for the handle, and there's some elastic holding the cosy snug to the cafetiere, keeping your coffee warm whilst you chat, eat etc! The sleeve design means you don't have to keep taking it off and on again too.

What do you think?

9th August 2010

I met some lovely people on wednesday. Laurie Steele  and I were in a row with Emma Harding, Artist and rescuer of orphaned objects. She also does some lovely prints too.

Also there were Jordan and Russell of Denise and Dudley, who have a homey vintage stall with upcycled fabrics cushions, birdcages and prints.

Busy busy busy busy... Just a quick note to say the I've been perfecting my slipper technique and they're looking sweet. Pictures and an order form soon soon soon.

7th July 2010

1. I'm back from Canada. I made some animations in my spare time over there. Just check out the videos section.

2. I now know how this website works, and if I can continue temporarily stealing functional PCs, this page may lead to some semblance of being up to date! I have been blogging over here.

3. The Craft Guerrillas of East London to exhibit alongside them at the Knitting and Stitching show! That will be in October at Ally Pally. I'm already psyched.

"Artist Statement" from degree show

On the 12th September, 1985 Sarah Kerry entered this world. She spent twenty-one years escaping from this world through her own play and imagination. During this time she learnt to knit, at first knitting scarves and squares before experimenting with freeform, knitting pants, bras and anything else she wouldn?t wear.

One day, she trod on a plug and thought how much better it would be if it were knitted. Then she thought it would be better if it was giant and knitted, then she could sit on it. So she made herself a plug stool and was very happy. After a while, she thought the plug stool was lonely. She wondered what she could make to keep it company. She knitted giant socks and a teacup but they were no (darned) good.

Then she thought "Crumbs! I will knit some biscuits and they will be known as McKnitie?s!". When she declared this the villagers in her imaginary world rejoiced. She made them and put them on the sofa to make it more comfortable.

Then she looked at her sewing kit and thought that it too should be big. And thus the cotton reel and pin cushion sidled in on the action, creating the "Sew What?" set. Sarah heard it said that "It's a small world" but hers is giant, and it's knitted. She hopes you are very comfortable there.
